BNB Chain has announced that the Pascal Hardfork, scheduled for March 20, will enhance its Ethereum compatibility and developer flexibility. A key feature of the upgrade, EIP-7702 smart contract wallets, has already been successfully implemented on the BNB Chain testnet. This makes BNB Chain one of the earliest chains to adopt this EVM upgrade, which temporarily allows Ethereum wallets to have native smart contract capabilities. EIP-7702 is part of the upcoming Ethereum Pectra upgrade and will enable wallets to execute batch transactions and set spending limits, potentially improving security.

Garantex Admins Charged in US for Money Laundering

Two administrators of the Russia-based cryptocurrency exchange Garantex, Aleksej Besciokov and Aleksandr “Mira” Serda, are facing criminal charges in the United States for allegedly helping hackers, ransomware groups, and terrorist organizations launder illicit funds. Prosecutors allege the two knowingly allowed Garantex to be used for laundering proceeds from cybercrime, terrorism, ransomware, and drug trafficking. The U.S. Department of Justice also accuses them of violating U.S. sanctions.
